This is a unique handmade ceramic pendant. Black porcelain clay is used to make the basic shape before being decorated with a white slip and finished with the Mere pattern.

The design for the Elements range of jewellery is taken from Karen's larger wall mounted work and maintains the detail and quality of the original art work. The piece is carefully polished after three firings in the kiln to create a strong yet light and wearable piece of art. Each pendant may vary ever so slightly from the photograph shown as each is hand made.

The pendant measures 50mm x 45mm and is available wire cable choker with a screw clasp.

Since completing an MA at the Royal College of Art in London in 1996 I have divided my time between teaching, raising a family and continuing to make. I have taught across the UK to adults, degree students and young children. Currently working from my purpose built studio in the garden I produce one-off ceramic work for exhibitions and galleries.

My work is inspired by my love of nature and the outdoors; the lines and patterns within the landscape, the texture of grasses against a stormy grey sky, the subtle variation in colour of a vast open seascape.

Wall pieces and tiles have been the vehicle for my exploration of colour and texture for sometime now. Recent additions to this comes in the shape of thrown bowls, vessel forms and jewellery which compliment and broaden the range of work I offer.
